Hey folks
Our energies and hearts are with all the folks affected by the Gulf Coast disaster. It really will take all of us giving from deep down. Here's to all the brave ones working in the relief efforts. I am really proud of all amazing people in the trenches and I am thankful that you are out there.
We need to make sure there is accountability by our administration to those who have lost their lives, loved ones, homes, and communities. It is up to all of us to make sure the response has integrity and recognizes the need to overcome our inherent racism and classicism. Tell your elected officials that you are keeping an eye on them! Support grassroots efforts that include in their agenda a recognition of the need for the communities to be rebuilt and populated by the people that lived there in the past. This should not be seen as an opportunity for gentrification and exploitation. I know it seems a little early to be thinking about this, but if our administration's initial response is any indication, then we need to be watchdogging them now.

IG will be donating all merchandise proceeds from our September tour to these relief efforts-for the humans and beast. Beyond that we hope to keep contributing in different ways in the upcoming years. I know there are a lot of folks doing a lot of good and it makes my heart full.

Okay, for all you LA folks I want to mention a screening of a film called "I Had An Abortion."
This film documents different women's experiences with abortion over the past 50 years. Through interviews the film puts a human face on abortion and adds a much needed dimension to the pro choice movement. If you want to go here's the low down....
