January / February—2006

Well, we're touring up and down the West coast, it's back to soda and Ruger wafers. I like a hotel with a good vending machine to keep me company. We're running bio diesel on a regular basis now, it feels good to tour this way. We'll be heading over to the East coast after this short run.

This tour features special guests, Three5Human (http://www.three5human.com). They hail from the A-T-L. We're having a blast with the band, playing a bang up rock finale every show. Julie Wolf has also joined the winter tour party with her keys and accordion. It's just super cool to have our friends around to make music with. This is the last run of shows before we go into the studio to make a new I.G. record. I don't really have much to say about that yet, except that we are writing and really looking forward to getting something new out there. I just finished a song called "Little Perennials."

I am still trying to catch up with the New Year. I have barely absorbed last year. It was so was rich with activities. Lately I have just been trying to read a lot and feel the company of activists and artists, with an occasional murder mystery thrown in for good measure.

My favorites books I've read this month are:
*Rednecks and Bluenecks: The Politics of Country Music - Chris Willman
*Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes From The American Indie Underground 1981-1991 - Michael Azerrad
*All the Power: Revolution Without Illusion - Mark Anderson
*Cinderella's Big Score: Women of the Indie Underground - Maria Raha
*Predator - Patricia Cornwell

On my last solo tour in October 2005, I kept losing my voice, so I got a hold of this incredible DVD called The Zen Of Screaming. The voice guru, Melissa Cross, gives exercises and methods for rock singers. It has saved me from losing my voice. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you want to learn to scream.

The latest Cd I have loaded onto my Ipod is the Rhino collection of MC5's greatest hits.

The most recent web site I visited is of a great punk trio from Tokyo called My way My Love http://mywaymylove.com
