Notes from Emily:
This was taken on Labor Day, in Charleston, West Virginia, where we spent a beautiful afternoon with Jesse Jackson, Willie Nelson, Judy Collins, Nancy Griffith, Pat Alger and others to focus on 'Reinvesting in America'. Rev Jackson gathered us for a briefing, wherein he recounted some of his meetings with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and how we still had to stay the course of justice for all peoples. We held a press conference where all the musicians and several union leaders and Rev. Jackson spoke, addressing the concerns of America's working poor and rededicating ourselves to providing health care for the 44 million Americans who don't have it. Then there was a concert outside where thousands gathered to share in the music and think about the real issues behind a 'labor' day.
